Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of Projects does Terps do?

We handle all types and sizes of projects. Our typical customer is residential, but we have business/place of worship clients. We have installed patios, stone paths, steps, fire pits, outdoor kitchens, pizza ovens, decks, pools, sod, water features, and installation of landscape plants, just to name a few. We work with all types of masonry and hardscape products including precast pavers, gravel, and natural stone.

Terps also handles excavation for pools, septic, drainage and more.

No job is too small or too large.

What is the process to get my job done?

Every project starts with a free consult. Owner Matt will drive to your location (or ask for texted pictures, dimensions, and other details) and look at what you’d like to have done. Once you decide whether you’d like to move forward, let our office know, and we add you to the schedule.

Keep in mind that scheduling for hardscaping can be a challenge. Some hardscaping jobs must be halted in the rain/mud or when the ground is frozen. Our busiest months are June-September, though we aim to work all year long. If you have a scheduling complication, please let Matt know right away, so he can try to see if it will fit in with the rest of our jobs.

How much does hardscaping usually cost?

The costs of our jobs depend on the following:

  1. What kind of materials you choose, and how intricate they are to cut/place/install.

  2. Whether any special equipment needs to be rented aside from our own machines.

  3. The number of days of labor required to complete the job.

  4. Owner modifications to the job after it has begun.

We aim to be as forthcoming with our estimates as possible, and we work within budgets as best we can.

What responsibilities do homeowners have?

Homeowners are responsible for any/all permits and investigation of local regulations and HOA requirements. These costs are not included in the estimate. Also, depending on the job, homeowners are also responsible for ordering their own material.

Is your Business Insured?

Yes, our business is fully insured.
